Executive Coaching for transformational change

Leading an organisation takes the same discipline it takes to cross an ocean: clear goals, resilience, and comfort with discomfort. Coaching with Mike applies that discipline to your leadership.

Reach your true professional potential through 1-2-1 executive coaching. My collaborative style of coaching will help you identify your strengths and build towards the career you aspire to.

What is Executive Coaching?

Executive coaching is a collaboration between you and your coach that helps you identify your professional goals and build a clear plan to achieve them. It stays focused on your leadership: how you make decisions under pressure, how you lead teams, and how you grow into the role — or the next role — you're aiming for.

Who is it for?

Executives, managers and high performers who want transformational change in how they lead — not incremental tweaks. If you're navigating a promotion, a difficult team dynamic, a change in direction, or simply want to lead with more clarity and resilience, executive coaching is for you.

Why Mike Jones Coaching?

Before coaching, I designed and delivered corporate team-building and leadership programmes for major multinationals including Dell and Waterford Crystal, and worked with some of Ireland's leading sports coaches to prepare senior inter-county and national teams for competition. Alongside that, I led search-and-rescue missions as a Coastguard coxswain, rowed the Atlantic, and guided expeditions on Kilimanjaro and Elbrus — extreme environments where decision-making under pressure isn't theoretical, it's the whole job. I bring that same discipline to executive coaching: clear goals, honest feedback, and comfort operating outside your comfort zone.

From a 40-day solo kayak around Ireland to guiding four Everest Base Camp expeditions and racing to line honours around Ireland, I've spent decades making decisions where the stakes are real. That's the discipline I bring to your leadership.

How it works

Coaching is conducted 1-2-1, in sessions normally an hour long. We start with a free, no-obligation Discovery Call to make sure we're a good fit. From there we agree a programme — typically a minimum of four sessions, more for larger goals — meeting weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on what suits.

What you'll walk away with

  • Clarity on the specific leadership goal you're working towards, and why it matters
  • A concrete action plan, built session by session rather than handed to you upfront
  • A structure for making decisions under pressure, drawn from search-and-rescue leadership
  • Honest, outside-perspective feedback on how you lead — not just what you intend

Frequently asked questions

How does coaching with Mike Jones work?

Coaching is conducted on a 1-2-1 basis over a number of sessions, normally an hour long. It starts with a Discovery Call — a free, no-obligation conversation to assess whether coach and coachee are a good match. From there, a number of sessions is agreed, usually a minimum of four but often more depending on the size of the goal, meeting weekly, fortnightly or monthly as needed.

Who is executive coaching for?

There is no fixed programme length — it depends on the scale of the goal or change you are working towards. Most engagements run a minimum of four sessions, with many clients continuing for longer as new goals emerge.

What does coaching cost?

Pricing depends on the scope of the engagement. There is no fee and no obligation for the initial Discovery Call — book one to talk through your goals and get a clear quote.
